Management and Restoration
The Chilika Development Authority (CDA) manages the wetland through a combination of hydrological management, real-time water quality monitoring, and community welfare interventions. These efforts have been successful; notably, Chilika Lake was removed from the Montreux Record in 2002 following effective restoration that improved fish landings and ecosystem resilience.
